Getting organized leaves you feeling great, right? You get all your ducks in a row and you feel totally in control.

And then a few weeks go by and that feeling of satisfaction fades. Things aren’t so hunky dory now. A month goes by and you feel like you’re back to square one. Almost as disorganized as you were at the start.

You might lament all that effort you put in. You might feel like a failure. Or worse, you might just throw in the towel and tell yourself you just aren’t meant to enjoy an organized life.

But you know what? It wasn’t your fault.

We focus so much on what it takes to get organized, that we forget the most critical component of staying organized.
